Monday, March 10, 2025
We are thrilled to kick off the first session of ESPERIDTA Summer School 2025, featuring the module “European Studies through Digital Political Science” led by Dr. Bożena Iwanowska. As part of the „European Studies for Supporting Polish Education and Research in Digital Transformation” project (Grant Agreement 101172710 - ESPERIDTA - ERASMUS-JMO-2024-HEI-TCH-RSCH ; project leader: Dr. Yan Kapranov) funded by the European Commission, today's discussions reinforced the crucial role of digital legitimacy, AI-driven governance, and political engagement in the digital sphere.
🔍 Key Highlights from Today’s Session:
One of the session’s standout moments was a brilliant two-hour presentation delivered by three of my outstanding students:
🎤 Aleksandra Hevorkian (Ukraine)
🎤 Yanina Kulahina (Belarus)
🎤 Rim Aboud (Morocco)
Their research explored:
📌 Social media and digital legitimacy – How platforms shape public trust and political authority in the EU.
📌 AI in governance – Can artificial intelligence regulate and moderate political discourse online?
📌 The role of social media in political mobilization – How digital activism and online campaigns influence elections and policy-making.
📌 Algorithmic bias and political influence – The ethical challenges of AI-driven content moderation and political advertising.
📌 Social media as a tool for digital diplomacy – The evolving role of states and international organizations in online political communication.
These discussions provided insightful perspectives on the intersection of digital transformation, AI, and political science, emphasizing the evolving nature of digital legitimacy and social media’s role in contemporary governance. As we continue our work within the ESPERIDTA project, we remain committed to exploring the impact of digital politics, multilingual AI translation, and gamification in education to shape the future of political engagement.
A huge thank you to our engaged students for their critical thinking and enthusiasm! 🚀 We look forward to more thought-provoking sessions ahead!
