Winter School 2024: A New Era of European Studies Begins 🌟

Today, November 25, 2024, we had the honor of welcoming Prof. Dr. Olena Semenog, an external expert from A. S. Makarenko Sumy State Pedagogical University (Ukraine), to the opening of the Winter School. Prof. Semenog delivered an inspiring address, motivating and congratulating all the participants as they embarked on this journey of exploration and learning. 🎓✨

Prof. Semenog will be working closely with us over the next two weeks, providing her expertise and guidance throughout the sessions. Her presence adds significant value to the Winter School, fostering deeper engagement and collaboration. 🌟🤝

🎉 Today marked the official launch of the Winter School as part of the ESPERIDTA project: “European Studies for Supporting Polish Education and Research in Digital Transformation: Interdisciplinary Approach” (Grant Agreement 101172710 - ERASMUS-JMO-2024-HEI-TCH-RSCH). 🚀✨

The spotlight was on Module “European Studies through Digital European Languages Policies,” designed for students of the School of Humanities and Fine Arts at the University of Economics and Human Sciences in Warsaw (Poland). 🎓📖

We embraced an innovative format for the Winter School, prioritizing interactive presentations from all participants followed by rich discussions. 💬✨ This approach created an engaging environment, fostering critical thinking and lively debates. 🤔🗨️

🌍 European Studies and Digital European Languages Policies – Uniting Diversity 🌍
This module provided invaluable insights into the role of digital tools in shaping European multilingualism, preserving linguistic diversity, and supporting cultural integration.

Key takeaways from today’s session include:
🔹 The evolving significance of digital transformation in language education and research. 🌐📚
🔹 Practical strategies for preserving minority and regional languages in the digital era. 💻🗣️
🔹 The critical role of translation and interpretation in strengthening cross-cultural communication. 🌏💬
🔹 Understanding the intersection of language policies with European identity and social cohesion. 🌟🇪🇺

European Studies is not just an academic pursuit—it’s a pathway to fostering unity, embracing diversity, and driving meaningful change. 🌍✨ Today’s discussions reminded us of the vital role that language policies play in creating a more inclusive and interconnected Europe. 💪🤝

We’re grateful for the enthusiasm of our students, the guidance of our experts, and the inspiration from Prof. Semenog. The Winter School is off to an incredible start, and we look forward to the exciting sessions ahead! 🙌📖
